Maybe yours would impress the most die-hard survivalist, but like many of us, the task of updating or even beginning an earthquake/safety kit often ends up at the bottom of the to-do list. Here’s a tip on how to make a seemingly unsurmountable chore a bit more manageable – break it down. Do one thing at a time. One item, one a week. According to the American Red Cross, these are 3 categories to keep in mind when preparing for an emergency:
- Get a Kit
- Make a Plan
- Be Informed
This week’s tip falls under the first category:
Put a spare pair of shoes in a plastic bag under the bed. Any pair that’s comfortable and easy to get on, those old tennis shoes you hardly ever wear. If you’re really motivated include any small items you’d want to take with you if you need to exit the house quickly, copy of id, medical info, etc.
