“Who is Harry Nilsson (And Why is Everybody Talkin’ About Him)?” Documentary Screening
and Director Q and A
Thursday, January 13 at 6:30 pm
The Community Room
1115 El Centro Street
South Pasadena, CA 91030
For more info about this event visit the City of South Pasadena website.
“John Lennon and Paul McCartney once called Harry Nilsson their favorite American singer. But despite a pop music career of over 30 years and hit recordings like “Everybody’s Talkin’,” the chart-topping tearjerker ballad “Without You,”and “Coconut,” (put de lime in de coconut…), Nilsson never performed in concert. The documentary “Who is Harry Nilsson (And Why Is Everybody Talkin’ About Him)?” is a portrait of the singer-songwriter tracing Nilsson’s musical influence, his struggle with addiction, and the shift in his later years to focus on family life.”
The screening will be introduced by the film’s director John Scheinfeld, followed by a Q & A.
