So much good coffee, so little time…
The Pantry Cafe • 5526 Monterey Rd
Try The Pantry Cafe in the sweet little enclave of Hermon and owned by local Monterey Hills neighbors. On your way out or home drop by for a good hand crafted latte and a very satisfying panini – the smoked salmon was nicely presented and savory. Great place to chat over lunch without traveling too far from the home…I’ll be back!
Antigua • 3400 N Figueroa St. • www.antiguacoffeehouse.com
‘Locally roasted’ coffee usually means somewhere within hundreds of miles – maybe thousands. For the family behind Antigua it means Lincoln Heights. And they are roasting beans from a Guatemalan farm in the family since 1865.
This friendly sunny café starts with rich coffee, deeply flavored and aromatic straight up or in a smooth latte. Comfortable couches & free wifi, great sandwiches and sweets and cool music.
Antigua owner Yancy has helped bring the same great vibe and coffee to El Sereno at Xoclatl Café. Visited www.xoclatl.org to learn more about their unique commitment to a local charter school.
