FOMWS Stargazing FlyerStarting at 5:30pm for your enjoyment we’ve arranged for BARRAGAN’s Mexican Restaurant (serving our communities since 1961 *donating back 15% of evening’s sales) and other ‘fun stuff’ for sale. Help support the 6th graders by buying a beverage. Proceeds from food & merchandise sales help support our school.
The event will begin at 6:30pm with an awesome slide show followed by stargazing. See Jupiter (the largest planet) and its moons and Venus (the hottest planet) through our giant telescope that is 4 times more powerful than the one at Griffith Observatory! View Lunar craters and travel over 1,300 years back in time as we observe the Great Nebula in Orion, a stellar nursery where stars are being born, plus many other Deep Space Objects!
Admission is FREE and is open to the Community.
*Volunteers will be needed to aim the telescopes; this is fun and easy to do. To volunteer or questions, contact Reda Rountree at stargazingchair@fomws.org or 323/440-0032.
