LA City Council recently voted to approve a Resolution to oppose ALL 710 highway and freeway alternatives that threaten to run through the Northeast communities, including tunnels.
For over 60 years, MTA’s extension of the 710 has threatened El Sereno and NELA. This is the FIRST time in the history of the 710 project that our LA City Council has taken a stand to protect our communities, which shows that our concerns are finally being heard! It’s crucial that we continue to keep them listening, and show our elected officials and civic leaders that we are united against this 60+ year old project that threatens to destroy our community.
El Sereno needs to show up in numbers to these meetings and events to show our leaders that we will not be taken for granted or ignored. We now have the momentum and support from other Northeast communities and it is time for El Sereno to act!
Several important meetings are coming, and WE must attend as many as possible, especially the one in El Sereno and SPEAK OUT AND PROTECTOUR COMMUNITY. Please wear RED SHIRTS OR SHAWLS to show our solidarity.
