During the next two Old L.A. Farmers Markets, March 5 and 12 beginning at 3 p.m., the Academia Avance class of 2013, working with the North Figueroa Association (sponsor of the Old L.A. Farmers Market) is conducting the Taste of Highland Art festival on Marmion Way at the market. There will be a public art wall, food trucks, and stages with music. Student Richard Tapia says “The mission is to expose underground artists who are unknown or not found in stores.” Come to this special event, where Avenue 58 meets Figueroa, and park behind Frank’s Camera.
There might still be booths available for rent for art or food; if interested, contact Chad Bantner at 310) 621-5168 or chad.bantner@
academiaavance. com. All the regular farmers, prepared food vendors, and crafters of the market will also be there in their usual spots, more or less.
